We currently do not deliver or ship out of the San Francisco Bay Area. We are, however, looking forward to expanding into additional grocery retailers beyond the Bay Area in 2017. Sign-up for our newsletter to learn of new store launches as we grow.At this point in time, we cannot deliver directly to customers. However, some of our grocery retailers offer home delivery and will set aside extra bottles for you if you call the store directly to request it. On our next delivery date, the grocery staff will pull it from the delivery and keep it aside for you.
BRU is available for purchase at select Northern California and Marin markets, including: Whole Foods Markets, Andronico’s, United Markets, Mill Valley Market, and Woodlands Markets. Two flavors in particular freeze well: Hug in Mug and Cayenne Zen. We do not recommend freezing the other four flavors as it affects the freshness and consistency due to some specific ingredients.
Our beverages have a 75 day shelf life. Once opened, we recommend consuming BRU within 1 week for optimal taste.
We use a PET/BPA free plastic bottle. Like glass, PET is hygienic, strong, resistant to attack by micro-organisms, does not react with foods or beverages, and will not biologically degrade. Currently, the HPP process can only be performed on plastic bottles. It is economical, shatterproof, and recyclable, making it the optimal packaging for our beverage. Although it transports BRU, it should not be heated in the bottle. Simply pour your BRU into a microwave-safe cup or stove-top pot and heat. Not at all. High Pressure Processing is a cold pasteurization technique that is a natural, environmentally friendly process that respects the ingredient and preserves the fresh food characteristics like flavor and maintains nutrients. It is a real alternative to traditional thermal and chemical treatments, and extends the freshness of BRU beverage without using preservatives. We only source organic and non-GMO products, and locally produced whenever possible. In our effort to reduce food waste, at least 50% of our produce is sourced from organic farms that have deemed them “cosmetically imperfect” but are 100% fit for consumption; after all, ugly food needs love too! We are proud to use Bragg’s organic apple cider vinegar, Nutiva coconut oil and Coconut Secret coconut aminos, all non-GMO Project verified and USDA organic certified, in some of our flavors. In regards to our Broffee beverage, we use fairtrade and organic coffee beans in addition to organic spices and organic cocoa powder.
BRU is the first ready-to-heat-and-sip bone broth beverage in the market that combines the health benefits associated with bone broth with the nutrients of juice into one delicious beverage line. Most bone broths you find in the grocery store are not actually beverages, and are meant for various forms of cooking. We combine organic, pasture raised chicken and organic grass fed beef with fresh pressed vegetables and roots to create a wide array of flavors that not only highlight the umami notes of bone broth, but also provide a new, savory way of experiencing juice. Cold Processing through HPP (High Pressure Processing) means that we maximize the nutrition extracted from these ingredients, while retaining the quality and flavor that makes BRU uniquely delicious.
